Neahkahnie Mountain rising over the Pacific

The North Coast · Kaigan

Everything,
within reach.

We sit a minute from the beach, beside Nehalem Bay State Park, and within a short drive of the finest stretch of the Oregon Coast. A good base for exploring — on foot or by car — and an easy place to come home to.

Manzanita Beach
1 minute on foot

Manzanita Beach

Seven miles of open, walkable sand stretch from Neahkahnie Mountain to the Nehalem jetty. The beach is broad, uncrowded, and dog-friendly — a place for long morning walks and driftwood fires at dusk.

Neahkahnie Mountain
Oswald West State Park

Neahkahnie Mountain

The headland that anchors the view south. A 2.8-mile round-trip from the southern trailhead climbs to ocean overlooks more than 1,600 feet above the surf, with the whole sweep of the coast laid out below.

Nehalem Bay State Park
Adjacent

Nehalem Bay State Park

Right beside us: a sand spit cradling a calm, glassy bay. Kayak or paddleboard the estuary, cycle the flat park loop, or walk the five-mile Nehalem Spit Trail out to where the bay meets the sea.

Oswald West & Short Sand Beach
10 minutes north

Oswald West & Short Sand Beach

A rainforest trail descends through old-growth spruce to Short Sand Beach, a protected cove that is among the most beloved surf and tide-pool spots on the Oregon Coast. Cape Falcon's overlook lies a little further on.

Cannon Beach & Haystack Rock
20 minutes north

Cannon Beach & Haystack Rock

The coast's most photographed monolith rises 235 feet from the tideline, ringed by tide pools and nesting puffins in spring. Cannon Beach's galleries and bakeries make an easy afternoon.

The Village of Manzanita
A short stroll

The Village of Manzanita

A handful of walkable blocks — a good bookshop, an excellent bakery, coffee, wine, and a clutch of unhurried restaurants. Everything in town is within a few minutes' walk of the front gate.
