The Zen Bath house in the snow

Bath & Garden · Yu

The still heart
of the house.

Between the rooms lies a true Japanese garden — lanterns and moss, foo dogs and stone, a Kannon among the geraniums — and at its centre, an outdoor bath open to the sky.

庭 · The Garden

Lanterns, moss,
and stone.

The patios and the Zen Garden are yours for the whole of your stay — a place to take your morning coffee, to read in the afternoon, or to simply sit while the coast fog comes and goes. Pagoda lanterns, a stone guardian at the stair, and a quiet that the village never quite reaches.

湯 · The Zen Bath

A hot soak
for two.

Our outdoor cedar bath is filled with fresh hot water for each soak, with kimonos and towels laid ready. Reserve it by the hour — most beautifully in the evening, and most memorably in winter, when the air is cold and the steam rises into a clear coast sky.
